City Life

What is City Life?

City Life Ministry Model is a relational, holistic, community based ministry that desires to see deep change in an urban neighborhood through the raising of indigenous leaders from the young people in that community.

What is City Life trying to do?

Our vision is to empower urban youth to change their community for Christ.

How does City Life acheive this vision?

  • By keeping a tight neighborhood focus which at times includes a youth and family development center in the area.
  • By doing relational, holistic ministry with a critical mass of youth from a specific community.
  • By raising indigenous leaders who donʼt move out, but stay and give back.

What does City Life mean by "holistic"?

To meet urban youth's spiritual needs, we need to meet their physical needs as well (Are they hungry? Do they need glasses to read God's word?). Holistic ministry is proclaiming the evangelical gospel AND demonstrating the gospel through addressing the social needs of youth and their families. James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

City Life has a strong emphasis on indigenous leadership development through relational discipleship and a focus on the development holistic programming through community collaboration in combination with the resources of a local YFC chapter and community collaboration.
